Stella Gitia

Senior Technical Advisor-Mental Health, LVCT Health  

Stella Gitia is a Mental Health Technical Advisor at LVCT Health, a leading Kenyan  local NGO, with over 20 years of experience strengthening health systems across Kenya. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Counselling Psychology and a Master’s  degree in Project Planning and Management, and has led high-impact mental health, SRH, HIV, and GBV prevention projects for vulnerable and marginalized populations.

Her expertise spans community-based mental health, task-sharing, adolescent and  youth mental health, workplace mental health, and the integration of mental health into primary care. She has contributed to national mental health policy and guideline development, and is an Africa CDC Mental Health Leadership Programme alumna, a Kofi Annan Fellow in Global Health Leadership, and a WHO-certified EQUIP trainer. Stella is passionate about building resilient mental health systems and mentoring the next generation of global health leaders.
