The flagship convening on mental health and wellbeing at scale.
Once a year, the Shamiri Summit brings the field into one room — researchers, builders, policymakers, educators, and young people — to move mental health and wellbeing from the margins to the mainstream. Each Summit takes on a defining question for the field, and 2026 asks the sharpest one yet: how do we build a model of care that reaches everyone?
The game is afoot.
We stand at an inflection point. The need for youth mental health care has outpaced every system built to meet it — too few specialists, too high a cost, too far from where people live and learn. For years the answer was to do more of the same, only bigger. It was never going to be enough; the old playbook was written for a smaller problem. But something has shifted. A new generation of science, technology, and delivery is rewriting what care can be — evidence-based, tech-enabled, democratized, and built to reach everyone. The plays that work are no longer theoretical. They are proven, affordable, and ready to scale.
The game is afoot. The question is no longer whether care at scale is possible, but how fast we build it — and who we build it for. This year’s theme is a call to write that playbook together: not one model, but a shared approach — the evidence to prove it, the workforce and technology to deliver it, and the policy and financing to make it last. Join us at Shamiri Summit 2026 as the field turns emerging evidence into a new standard of care, one that reaches every person, everywhere.
Shamiri
Shamiri is a Kenya-born mental health organization built to make proven, affordable care reach every young person. We deliver low-cost, clinically effective care at scale. We run the research that proves it — randomized trials, published across leading journals. And we build the technology to extend it further than clinics alone ever could. Since 2021, we’ve reached 250,000+ young people, on the way to one million. Shamiri means thrive — we make mental health care work, so young people can.
