Hub Manager, Shamiri

McGovarn Kamau is a mental health systems leader dedicated to scalable mental health care in developing countries.

As a Hub Manager at Shamiri, he leads the end-to-end delivery of mental health programs across multiple schools, managing stakeholder engagement, team recruitment, and quality assurance. Previously serving as Shamiri's Hub Coordinator and Clinical Supervisor, he led teams to reach over 5000 young people.

His experience includes roles as a Mental Health Consultant at AAR Healthcare Kenya, Research Associate at Amref International University, Project Associate in Ethiopia, Program Coordinator in Uganda and Kenya, and a Health Extension Worker in Kenya.

He holds a BSc in Community Health, an Advanced Diploma in Applied Mental Health Practice, and an MSc in Health Systems Management from Amref International University. His deepest, most heartfelt passion is ensuring African youth feel truly seen, heard and supported, empowering them to realize their life’s potential.
